"I have always held passions for Drama, Music and Sport. At the age of seven I joined my local Football club and since then have been heavily involved in sport. I represented my county in both Football and Cricket, was selected for an East Anglia Representative XI in Football at the age of 14 and reached the National Final in Cricket with Norfolk County Cricket Club at 15. I completed a year at The Bracewell Cricket Academy in New Zealand, where I developed as a player and a coach. I was also selected for one of six National Cricket Academies whilst at University. Having been involved throughout school in Drama productions, I decided to study the Theatre at University, where I helped produce work that led us to London, Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a residency at the centre for European contemporary Arts in Cardiff. I am a keen musician and have performed for Radio 4 and BBC Radio Wales. I have been able to achieve and experience these things due to the high level of teaching and guidance that I received throughout my childhood. I value this help and am dedicated to my goal of providing similar environments and support which will allow others to achieve their potential and fulfil their goals.

After running Set Your Sights for 13 years, I continue to take great pleasure in providing opportunities to both the child that attend our clubs and the staff that love to run them.”

Introduction to Safeguarding Children

I was born in Thailand, but have been living in the UK since 2000.

After completing my education, I taught in a secondary school for a while before moving on to work as a Tour Guide. I enjoy looking after people, especially children, so after coming to England I chose to study for my NVQ qualification and become a Playworker. I also have experience of working with younger children in a nursery setting.

One of the first things I learned working with children, is that if you respect them then they will respect you. I like to organise both physical and arts and crafts group activities, but often find myself asked to join in the activities the children themselves have organised. So, I may find myself playing badminton, table tennis, tag, avalanche, or perhaps just being the goalkeeper for their penalty shootout. I am happy to be flexible so that I can meet their needs.  I really enjoy my job and the satisfaction it brings me.

Level 2 Health and Social care

Level 3 Childcare and Early Learning Diploma

I studied Health and Social Care while at college, through doing this I realised I wanted to learn more about the childcare side of social care. I decided to do a Childcare and Early learning Diploma after I left college, as well as volunteer at a nursery to gain experience while studying.

I really enjoy working at Avenue after school club, the children are all so lovely and they make the job a lot of fun and interesting.

Since being in High School, I have always wanted to work with children. I started out volunteering in my local primary school and then whilst completing my degree in Education Studies, I became a midday supervisor and cover TA at a SEND specialist school. During my degree, I also enjoyed placements at various other schools and then went on to become a qualified teacher, specialising in Early Years. I taught reception in a diverse Infant School in the city, where my passion was personal, social and emotional development. After nearly 4 years of teaching, I left to pursue my own business focussing on the mental and emotional wellbeing of adults, but continued to support parents with the wellbeing of their children during this time too. I'm now excited to be back working directly with children again, helping to create a safe and enjoyable environment for them. One of my favourite things about working with children is seeing their individuality and listening to the things they have to say. Outside of work I enjoy time in nature, baking and crafts.
