"I have always held passions for Drama, Music and Sport. At the age of seven I joined my local Football club and since then have been heavily involved in sport. I represented my county in both Football and Cricket, was selected for an East Anglia Representative XI in Football at the age of 14 and reached the National Final in Cricket with Norfolk County Cricket Club at 15. I completed a year at The Bracewell Cricket Academy in New Zealand, where I developed as a player and a coach. I was also selected for one of six National Cricket Academies whilst at University. Having been involved throughout school in Drama productions, I decided to study the Theatre at University, where I helped produce work that led us to London, Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a residency at the centre for European contemporary Arts in Cardiff. I am a keen musician and have performed for Radio 4 and BBC Radio Wales. I have been able to achieve and experience these things due to the high level of teaching and guidance that I received throughout my childhood. I value this help and am dedicated to my goal of providing similar environments and support which will allow others to achieve their potential and fulfil their goals.

After running Set Your Sights for 13 years, I continue to take great pleasure in providing opportunities to both the child that attend our clubs and the staff that love to run them.”

I have learnt all about Safeguarding the Early Years Foundation Stage and putting children’s needs first with this course that I am now thrilled to put into practice at Set Your Sights. Throughout my qualification I have gained lots of experience with young people by going to placements at a local primary school twice a week where I have supported children and there families whilst having lots of fun. At my previous employment I gained even further experience with children up to 12 years old as a Party Host keeping the children and their families safe as well as providing them with food and an amazing service. Since being in High School, I have always wanted to work with children. I started out volunteering in my local primary school and then whilst completing my degree in Education Studies, I became a midday supervisor and cover TA at a SEND specialist school. During my degree, I also enjoyed placements at various other schools and then went on to become a qualified teacher, specialising in Early Years. I taught reception in a diverse Infant School in the city, where my passion was personal, social and emotional development. After nearly 4 years of teaching, I left to pursue my own business focussing on the mental and emotional wellbeing of adults, but continued to support parents with the wellbeing of their children during this time too. I'm now excited to be back working directly with children again, helping to create a safe and enjoyable environment for them. One of my favourite things about working with children is seeing their individuality and listening to the things they have to say. Outside of work I enjoy time in nature, baking and crafts.

Since High School I have always wanted to work with children, I began working in childcare by volunteering at a local baby group supporting the baby’s growth and development. I later went on to qualify at college working in a range of settings with diverse age groups ranging from 3 to 11. Following my college studies, I began working with a holiday club, participating in and organising a variety of activities meant to entertain and encourage children’s wellbeing. Whilst maintaining this role, I began volunteering as a Teaching Assistant with children aged 7-8, I really enjoyed supporting the children with their learning and development promoting positive experiences for all. I briefly volunteered in a SEN as part of my qualification, this experience encouraged me further to become a teacher, after my studying finished, I began working as a roller-skating instructor for children aged 4 and up this was extremely fun! After Qualifying to be a teaching assistant I found a role as a teaching assistant within Year 2, moving up to Year 3 and Year 1, this is a job I continue to do and thoroughly enjoy, whilst working I have studied a BA in education to develop my role as a teacher. One of my favourite things about working with children is the positive views they have and watching them progress as an individual, as a childcare worker it is my passion to provide a safe and fun environment for children to thrive and develop. Outside of work I enjoy baking, crafting and sports.
